Snowpack Structure

25 to 30 cm of snow, and even more in some localities, has fallen since Friday. In isolated cases new snow is lying on the smooth surface of an old snowpack. In all regions only a small amount of snow is lying for the time of year.

Avalanche Activity

New snow represents the main danger.

Down to 500 m snow fell on Friday. Above approximately 1100 m snow will fall from midday in some localities. The new snow and wind slabs represent the main danger. Small and medium-sized dry avalanches are possible. New snow and wind slabs can in some cases be released, in particular by large loads.
