Strong west winds and consistent snowfall over the last week have formed slabs at high elevations in steep wind loaded avalanche terrain. Riders and skiers have the potential to trigger these slabs today to depths of up to three feet. At mid elevations shallow new slabs and isolated pockets to a foot could be triggered and avalanches at low elevations are unlikely today.

A weak system will bring some light snow to the area overnight with periods of light snow possible on Thursday. Thursday is to be warmer with highs reaching near thirty degrees in the mountains.The general avalanche hazard will Moderate in the Togwotee Pass Area, The Southwest Trails area, and at the high elevations of the Teton area. The possibility continues for riders and skiers to trigger slabs to depths of three feet in steep wind loaded avalanche terrain.
