The General Avalanche Hazard remains HIGH. Dense slabs up to 30 inches in depth lie upon a weak unstable faceted snowpack. These slabs are likely to be easily triggered by humans on snowmachines, skis or snowboards who venture onto steep snow covered slopes. Yesterday skiers triggered a large soft slab avalanche on an east aspect of Angle Mountain from an avalanche starting zone at an elevation of 9,700 feet. Similar events could release naturally today or be easily triggered by humans. An avalanche watch has been issed for the mountains of Western Wyoming and travel in avalanche terrain is not recommended.
