Forecast Snow Stability: Unstable windslab will be present on many wind sheltered locations on mainly North through East to South-East aspects above 800 metres. Cornices above these aspects will be fragile. Below 800 metres there will be localised accumulations of windslab, but these will be more stable. Exposed windward aspects will be generally scoured, icy and stable. The avalanche hazard will be Considerable.

Forecast Weather Influences: Overnight snow showers will die out to leave a day day. Winds will be from a generally Westerly direction. The freezing level will rise from 400 metres early in the morning to around 800 metres by the end of the day. Observed Weather Influences: Snow showers and strong Westerly winds through the day. Freezing level around 600 metres. ObservedSnowStability: Areas of unstable windslab developing on wind sheltered locations above 900 metres on mainly North through East to South-East aspects. Below this level there are areas of windslab, but these tend to be localised and better bonded. Windward slopes are generally scoured and stable. The avalanche hazard is Considerable.
