CM for 27.3 Old snowpack generally stable, its surface frozen. Localised shallow windslab deposits, SW-W-N aspcts abve 900m. Haz Low

Forecast Snow Stability: Little change is expected. Some localised shallow accumulations of recently deposited windslab will be present in sheltered locations, mainly on South-West through West to North aspects above 900 metres. The old snowpack will be generally stable throughout, its surface frozen. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Forecast Weather Influences: It is expected to remain dry throughout the period. It will remain cold; freezing at all levels overnight, then the freezing level rising slightly during the morning. Winds will be light to moderate Northerly during the evening, then gradually easing and backing to the South-South-West before strengthening a little during the day. Observed Weather Influences: After a little overnight snow it was basically a dry day with sunny spells. Winds were light generally North-North-Easterly. The freezing level rose to around 600 metres. ObservedSnowStability: During the early morning there was a thin covering of new snow on all aspects above around 500 metres; where exposed to effects of the sun this was melting. Some shallow windslab has formed in wind sheltered locations, mainly on South-West through West to North aspects above 900 metres. Accumulations are limited in extent. The older snowpack is generally stable throughout; its surface has refrozen in these colder conditions. The avalanche hazard is Low.
