Forecast Snow Stability: Areas of windslab will become more widespread above 800 metres, on mainly East and South-Easterly aspects. Additional areas affected will be on North and North Easterly facing gullies, where cross-loading will occur on sheltered gully flanks and exits. Cornices above these aspects will continue to develop and be fragile. Better snow stability on wind scoured slopes and ridges. The avalanche hazard will be Considerable

Forecast Weather Influences: Further snow showers, heavy at times overnight are forecast to clear by mid-morning, thereafter it will be a mostly dry day. The strong North-Westerly airflow will ease and become Westerly as the day progresses. It will remain cool with the Freezing Level between 400 to 600 metres over the period. Observed Weather Influences: Frequent snow showers have affected the area throughout the period. Very strong Westerly winds have brought storm force conditions with cooler temperatures; minus 3 Degrees Celsius on summits at midday. ObservedSnowStability: Areas of windslab have developed above 800 metres on North to Easterly aspects. Cornices development was also noted around coire rims of the above aspects.
