The avalanche danger is on the rise. New snow and strong winds will build fresh slabs that are easy to trigger on leeward slopes. Use extra caution if you find over a foot of new or drifted snow. Though harder to trigger, avalanches that break deeper in the snowpack are still a concern. Common trigger points around rocky areas, the margins of a slope, or steep rollovers are places you should try to avoid. You can trigger the entire slope from one of these shallow spots or from a distance away. To your risk, steer clear of wind-drifted slopes and stick to lower-angle terrain.
