The general avalanche hazard is CONSIDERABLE today. Warmer snow has fallen on top of the lighter snow that fell sunday night and resulted in an "upside down" snow surface and the ability to easily trigger sensitive surface slabs to two feet in depth in steep wind loaded avalanche terrain.

Some snow with light accumulations, lighter Westerly winds, and temperatures in the upper teens are expected Tuesday. AVALANCHE HAZARD FOR THE TETON, TOGWOTEE PASS / CONTINENTAL DIVIDE AND GREYS RIVER / SOUTHWEST TRAILS AREAS:Monday nights' continued moisture will add to the depth of the present sensitive surface slabs. Tuesday's avalanche danger will be at least CONSIDERABLE at the upper and mid elevations where these slabs will be easily skier triggered on steep terrain and may climb to HIGH particularly at the upper elevations depending on how much moisture and wind is recieved overnight.Backcountry users are advised to consult area specific forecasts issued every morning as new information may become available and unexpected weather can change conditions.
