Temperatures at 9,500 feet will cool off to the low 20s overnight then rise to the mid 20s during the day. Winds will continue strong from the southwest in the evening then back to more westerly and slow to 30 mile per hour averages Tuesday. A WINTER STORM WARNING HAS BEEN ISSUED BY THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE TO 6 AM TUESDAY FOR MOST WESTERN WYOMING MOUNTAIN AND VALLEY LOCATIONS. The general avalanche hazard is expected to be Moderate Tuesday. Soft slabs to a foot in depth could be triggered by people on steep lee slopes at upper elevations. The graupel within the new snow could make slabs more sensitive to triggering and the hazard could increase and become more widespread in areas that receive heavier snowfall.
