( Discussion is generated from the previous day's afternoon forecast. )A cold moist unstable air mass will bring numerous snow showers to the mountains Friday night and Saturday. This flow regime will favor the western slopes of the Teton and Gros Ventre Ranges. Mountain temperatures will fall into the single digits below zero overnight and rise into the teens on Saturday afternoon. Ridge crest winds will be southwesterly at 20 to 25 miles per hour. The general avalanche hazard is expected to be CONSIDERABLE in the Teton and Greys River/Southwest Trails areas. In steep avalanche terrain soft surface slabs up to three feet in depth are likely to be easily triggered by humans and could release naturally. Deeper full depth avalanches are possible especially in the Greys River/Southwest Trails area. In the Togwotee Pass/Continental Divide Trails area the general avalanche hazard is expected to be MODERATE. Soft surface slabs up to two feet in depth could be human triggered on steep slopes and some potential exists to trigger deeper hard slabs in areas underlain by weak faceted snow.
