Winds will veer to the Northeast at 5 to 10 mph Monday night then continue around the compass to southwesterly Tuesday. Mountain temperatures will drop to the single digits above zero overnight and climb into the mid teens Tuesday.The General Avalanche Hazard in the TETON area will remain LOW on Monday. The snowpack is mostly stable and avalanches are unlikely. Remember, LOW hazard does not mean NO hazard, and an unlucky backcountry traveler could still trigger an isolated pocket of slab in steep, wind-loaded starting zones.In the CONTINENTAL DIVIDE/TOGWOTEE PASS and SOUTHWEST TRAILS/GREYS RIVER areas, the General Avalanche Hazard will stay MODERATE. A base layer of weak, faceted snow persists and skiers or riders who venture into steep, avalanche-prone terrain could trigger dangerous hard slab avalanches carrying the entire snowpack.
