Salt River and Wyoming Ranges

Natural and human-triggered avalanches are unlikely today. The snowpack has finally received the cooldown it so desperately needed, and today you'll find a generally stable snowpack. However, travel in the mountains is inherently risky, so continue to practice good travel techniques. Also, be mindful of sagging cornices - limiting your time beneath these giants which may be approaching their stressing point. 

The snowpack is generally stable and natural and human-triggered avalanches are unlikely.  However, traveling in the mountains is inherently risky. Today you may encounter wind slabs, which while small in comparison to a burial may still push you into consequential terrain or result in minor injuries. You may also find weak snow that is still cooling off. While it's very unlikely that you'll find a wet snow avalanche problem today, failing on the March persistent weak layers, be mindful of the recent problem if you encounter soggy snowpacks and collapsing crusts. Lastly, cornices have taken a hit from the recent warm temperatures. In the spring, cornices can sag and fail unpredictably.  Limit your time beneath these beasts and give them wide margins when traveling along the ridgelines, as they often break further back than you expect.
