Today, light snow coupled with strong winds will make for easy snow transport. This process will occur as the day advances, with fresh drifts forming on leeward aspects. Near and above treeline on specific south and east aspects, previous wind-drifted snow exists. The incoming additional load could cause these drifts to become more sensitive over time, which would result in a much larger avalanche. Areas to expect rising concern are leeward catchment zones near rock outcroppings, beneath ridgelines, or mid-slope depressions. Dry snow will fall on many hard surfaces, making bonding difficult, especially above treeline. Strong to extreme wind speeds can often behave unexpectedly and oddly. Because of this, don't assume anything and be adaptable to the changing conditions. Your situational awareness is one of the greatest tactics for avoiding danger in the backcountry today.
