Overnight temperatures remained above freezing to 9,500 feet. Due to the repeated melt-freeze cycles and heavy snow or rain events this spring, the snowpack is very consolidated and mostly stable. Remember that low hazard does not mean no hazard exists and isolated wet loose slides are possible today, particularly this afternoon, in very steep terrain features as the snow surface further weakens. Identify these isolated features where weaker snow lies to best manage this avalanche problem.

This limited moisture could fall as rain to as high as 10,000 feet during the day. A slight chance for afternoon thunderstorms also exists. Temperatures at 10,000 feet are to reach the upper thirties to low forties during the day. A stronger trough of moisture is to bring more significant moisture to the area starting Friday night. The general avalanche will be Low on Friday and could increase to Moderate if excessive warming occurs. The snowpack is mostly stable, however, wet slides could occur in isolated areas of very steep terrain, particularly in higher elevation cliff areas.
