Sunday's round of snow and wind will create the potential for more widespread avalanches overnight, but we expect the danger to return to moderate by Monday morning. Large upper-elevation wind-loaded slopes will be reactive to human triggers, particularly in the early morning.  Ease into avalanche terrain, noting the scoured sides of ridges and recent sharp cornices to identify and steer around suspect slopes in any wind-exposed areas.

    Sunday brought another round of snow (6-8") with moderate SW winds easily transporting snow through Sunday night. Dangerous avalanche conditions may develop and could linger into the early morning hours. Take additional precautions at the start of your day, noting evidence of wind transport including variations in storm snow depth, textured surfaces, or firm over weak snow layering. Fresh, sharp cornices can also help you identify wind-loaded slopes below. When in doubt, steer around potential wind deposits on slopes steeper than 35 degrees.

    Near treeline, slabs will tend to be smaller in size, but keep in mind that even a small avalanche can rake you through shallowly buried rocks and debris.

Sunday's snow added to more cold snow. Pay attention for rollerballs as a precursor to small wet loose avalanches on steep slopes directly facing the sun and don't let these catch you near a terrain trap. During Saturday's clear weather, observers documented large natural avalanche activity above treeline from a major storm cycle November 27 - December 1st. On some southerly aspects, you may find a thin crust buried by the snow 12/4.
