The general avalanche hazard is expected to increase from MODERATE to CONSIDERABLE as temperatures warm and snowfall rates and wind speeds increase. Areas of unstable snow exist. A snowmobiler was reported to have been caught, buried and not yet recovered near the head of the Game Creek drainage yesterday. The potential for snowmachiners and skiers to trigger soft surface slabs will increase as the day progresses. Once triggered these surface slabs could step down to buried layers of weak faceted snow.
