You can easily trigger large and dangerous avalanches on steep west through north to southeast-facing slopes. In deeper areas, you may not see any signs of instability before an avalanche breaks two to four (or more) feet deep. These are tricky and perilous conditions, as any avalanche you trigger may be hard to survive. Sticking to lower-angle terrain is the best way to stay safe.

In addition, keep an eye on steep sunny slopes. These could become wet and unstable as they warm throughout the day.
