Avalanche Summary

Avalanche danger is slowly easing, but the consequences of triggering an avalanche have not. If you find a shallow spot on a slope and trigger an avalanche, it will be large. Northwest to north through northeast-facing slopes above treeline are the most dangerous. Avoid likely trigger points, including slab margins, convex rollovers, and shallowly buried rocks. In such a low-snow year, expect there to be more shallow trigger points on a slope than in other years. Multiple tracks on a slope are not an indication of stability.

To keep it simple, avoid steep avalanche terrain altogether. Stick to slopes around 30 degrees or less.
