Reports of wet avalanche activity persist. Although temperatures have cooled slightly, they remain warm enough to pose wet-snow hazards. Slushy surface conditions, punching through into deeper moist snow, and roller balls or pinwheels rolling out of steep, rocky terrain all signal that additional wet avalanche activity is likely. Most recent avalanches have been loose, but some slides gouged deeper into the snowpack triggering larger slab avalanches. The highest risk of wet avalanche activity is on northwest, north, and northeast-facing slopes at the highest elevations.
Start and end your day early to minimize your risk. However, with the current weather pattern, the window for safer travel conditions is shrinking each day.
