Kernpunkte

The general avalanche hazard is MODERATE. The snowpack is mostly stable. However, in isolated areas the possibility persists for larger loads, such as snow machines or groups of riders, to trigger full depth hard slabs in very steep avalanche paths. The last activity in the area involving this weak layer occurred one month ago.

Avalanche Discussion

( Discussion is generated from the previous day's afternoon forecast. )The Pacific weather system will begin to move into the region Monday bringing increased cloud cover followed by afternoon snow showers. Overnight lows in the mountain will be near 10 before climbing into the low 20s during the day. Ridgetop winds will be southwesterly at 15 to 25 miles per hour. The general avalanche hazard is expected to be Moderate on Monday. A slight chance may remain for large loads to trigger full depth avalanches at the upper elevations. In steep, wind loaded avalanche terrain, backcountry travelers could also trigger loose snow sluffs, and isolated pockets of surface slab up to 12 inches deep.
