Kernpunkte

The avalanche danger remains CONSIDERABLE in the high elevation northwest through east facing terrain. Avoid those steep high elevation more northerly slopes because you are likely to trigger something if you go into that terrain. If you stay out of this described terrain, the avalanche danger is much lower.

The old weak sugar snow from October continues to prove it's weak enough to cause avalanches on those high elevation northwest, north and northeast facing slopes. I'd be wary of high east facing slopes as well. Don't mess with these slopes right now. We'll keep an eye on the progression of the weak layer and hopefully it will heal in a reasonably short time frame rather than lingering for half the winter. Stay tuned.
