Kernpunkte

The snowpack is mostly stable. Avalanches are unlikely except for small pockets of wind slab less than a foot deep in isolated terrain features at the highest elevations.

Avalanche Discussion

Skies will become mostly clear overnight with temperatures that drop into the single digits and teens. Daytime highs will rise into the 20’s and 30’s. Winds will be light at 5 to 10 miles per hour. Avalanche hazards will be limited to small slides at the higher elevations. These slides could be small pockets of shallow wind slab up to a foot in depth or shallow loose wet slides involving the new snow. Small slides can be dangerous in cliff areas, very steep couloirs and chutes, on hanging snowfields, above terrain traps and in other types of extreme terrain. The general avalanche hazard is expected to be low.
