In particular on sunny slopes and in steep rocky terrain small and medium-sized natural moist avalanches are possible. The wind slabs of Wednesday can be released above approximately 2000 m. This applies even in case of a single winter sport participant in some cases. Individual avalanche prone locations are to be found especially on steep shady slopes at elevated altitudes and adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls. Backcountry tours and off-piste skiing should be concluded timely.

The wind slabs are to be found in particular in the regions exposed to precipitation and generally at elevated altitudes. The mostly small wind slabs are clearly recognisable to the trained eye. The surface of the snowpack will freeze to form a strong crust and will soften earlier than the day before.
