Adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls wind slabs formed. The fresh snow and the wind slabs can be released by a single winter sport participant. As a consequence of the precipitation more avalanches are possible as the day progresses, even large ones in isolated cases. As the moisture increases moist and wet avalanches are to be expected. This applies in particular at low and intermediate altitudes. Ski touring and other off-piste activities, including snowshoe hiking, call for caution.
Over a wide area over a wide area 30 to 50 cm of snow, and even more in some localities, fell on Friday above approximately 2000 m. The southerly wind has transported the new snow. In some cases the wind slabs have bonded poorly with each other and the old snowpack. Above approximately 2200 m a lot of snow is lying. The surface of the snowpack will cool hardly at all during the overcast night. Precipitation to intermediate altitudes: The weather conditions as the day progresses will give rise to moistening of the snowpack in particular at low and intermediate altitudes.
On Wednesday as the precipitation becomes more intense there will be a gradual increase in the danger.
