The Manti Skyline has a generally stable snowpack, with an overall LOW avalanche danger. Shallowly-buried obstacles are our biggest safety concern today.

General Conditions: Nothing new to write home about as we continue into week two of clear weather (high pressure). Avalanche danger is generally LOW, and shallowly-buried rocks, logs, stumps, etc. continue to be a bigger safety concern than avalanches. Average snow depths are 2 feet in most high elevation terrain, with favored spots reaching close to 3 feet. Brett, Lara, and myself headed up to Spring City Canyon yesterday, and Logan Addis was prowling around the Electric Lake area on Monday. Winds have generally have been light to calm since Monday, and overnight mountain temperatures were in the 20s F.

Mountain Weather: A lot more of the same today: mountain temperatures will reach into the low to mid 30s F, with many high locations staying just below freezing. Mostly clear skies, with the potential for some thin, high clouds to roll in as the day progresses...and highlight the sunset. Winds will remain generally light, with the occasional ridgeline breeze out of the WNW. A split storm system will drift to our south later this week—which won't mean much in terms of snow for us, but expect cold temperatures, increased cloud cover, and the potential for some wind.
