You will be able to trigger avalanches in the new snow on a variety of steep slopes. Use caution on all slopes over 35 degrees and avoid leeward sides of ridges and wind loaded features. It will be most dangerous above 5,000ft where more snow will accumulate and where westerly wind will drift deeper slabs of snow. We expect natural avalanches at upper elevations, some of which could be big enough to bury and kill you.
Stay alert and observant for avalanches and signs of instability. Use small test slopes to asess the snowpack before comitting to larger terrain. Look for cracks shooting through the snow and snow that slides easily to show where you can trigger avalanche. If you see this, be ready to stick to lower-angle, well-supported slopes.
