Forecast Snow Stability: Large areas of unstable windslab will continue to form in sheltered locations. Greatest accumulations will be on steep North-West through North to East aspects above 900m. As the freezing level rises overnight, this windslab will become increasingly unstable and avalanches are likely in these locations. Cornices will also become increasingly unstable and prone to collapse. The avalanche hazard will be Considerable.

Forecast Weather Influences: There will be a period of heavy snow this evening above 700m. Overnight, the freezing level will quickly rise to around 1200m accompanied by some light rain. Winds will be strong, initially from the South but veering to the South-West later. Observed Weather Influences: It has been a dry and cold day with strong South-Westerly winds over the summits.
