At the upper elevations humans who venture into very steep avalanche starting zones may be able to trigger an isolated pocket of wind slab up to a foot in depth. It will get warm today. Sunshine and warming temperatures will soften snow surfaces and increase the potential for shallow wet slides to release naturally from sunlit cliff areas or to be human triggered on very steep terrain features during the warmest portion of the day. Small slides can be consequential in cliff areas, steep couloirs and other extreme terrain features.

Skies will be mostly clear overnight and for the better part of Sunday. It will be warmer. Overnight lows will be in the 20s. Highs will be in the 30’s on the peaks and in the 40’s and 50’s at the mid and lower elevations. Northwest winds at 5 to 15 miles per hour will back to the west. In the later afternoon hours and evening clouds and winds will increase ahead of an approaching cold front.Snow surfaces will freeze overnight and soften during the day. The warmer temperatures and abundant sunshine will increase the wet snow avalanche hazard. The general avalanche hazard is expected to low in the morning and increase to moderate in the afternoon.
