Surface crusts this morning will soften as daytime warming occurs exposing areas of deeper wet snow. Roller balls and pinwheels will indicate that the snow surface is losing strength and that larger wet loose avalanches could soon occur. If the snow becomes, deep, wet, or unsupportable, move away from steeper avalanche terrain.
Increased cloud cover and mostly above freezing temperatures overnight could decrease the overnight refreeze of the snow surface in some areas. Areas with increased cloud cover could spread wet snow development to more aspects earlier in the day. Slightly cooler temperatures are expected today with increasing clouds and the chance for afternoon thunderstorms. Look for signs of changing snow surface conditions while traveling in the backcountry. Keep in mind that even small avalanches can have increased consequences in exposed terrain.
