Forecast Snow Stability: The snowpack will consolidate at all levels. During Wednesday the snowpack will gradually refreeze above 1000m. No significant new snow is expected. Snowpack stability will be generally good. The avalanche hazard will be Low.
Snowpack Structure
Forecast Weather Influences: Rain showers will continue at all levels before clearing overnight. By Wednesday morning the freezing level will drop to around 1000m and it will be dry. Moderate Westerly winds. Observed Weather Influences: Strong Southerly winds, easing during the morning accompanied by rain with the freezing level rising above the summits by lunchtime. ObservedSnowStability: The snowpack became increasingly moist as the day progressed. Localised instabilities are present, mainly on steep North-West though North to East aspects above 1000m. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
