Forecast Snow Stability: Initially some residual instabilities will remain in highest, steepest gully heads and sheltered North-West through North to Easterly locations above 950 metres. Some single point release, roller ball activity is possible but the snowpack will gradually consolidate as a steady slow thaw starts to affect all locations. Any recent cornices above these aspects will be suspect. Good stability at all lower elevations and aspects. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.

Forecast Weather Influences: A few further snow showers will clear overnight as an area of high pressure begins to build, bringing dry and milder conditions for the rest of the period. Light South-Westerly winds will freshen and increase to South-Easterly, then Southerly by end of the day. The freezing level will rise to above summit levels. Observed Weather Influences: A grey and overcast day to start. Wintry showers, some heavy around midday cleared by early afternoon to give a bright end to the day. The winds have been light mainly South-South-East and South. Freezing level was around the summits. ObservedSnowStability: The snow showers fell on bare ground at around 650 metres, leaving only a light dusting at this elevation. Localised new snow instabilities exist in steepest sheltered North to Easterly aspects above 900 metres. Some minor new cornice development around coire rims of these aspects. Elsewhere stability is good. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
