As a consequence of new snow and wind a moderate danger of dry avalanches will be encountered in some regions.
The snowpack will be in most cases stable. The foehn wind will transport the new snow. Fresh wind slabs will form especially adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls and generally at elevated altitudes. The avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular in steep terrain and at transitions from a shallow to a deep snowpack. Below approximately 2000 m from a snow sport perspective, in most cases insufficient snow is lying.
The snowpack is largely stable and its surface has a melt-freeze crust. In the course of the day clearly visible wind slabs will form in particular in the regions exposed to the foehn wind. In particular at lower altitudes only a small amount of snow is lying for the time of year.
