Due to the rainy conditions this week there is a lot of wet snow on the surface below approximately 2500'. Triggering a wet loose avalanche is likely in steep terrain today. These avalanches can be dangerous if they run into terrain traps and they tend to get bigger the further they run downslope. To avoid the problem stick to lower angle terrain and try to avoid the runout zones of overhead avalanche paths.
Storm slab and Wind slab: The rain line is expected to drop down to about 1500' today, which means dry snow could form fresh wind slabs and storm slabs at upper elevations. Natural and human triggered avalanches are likely in areas receiving new snow and strong winds. Keep an eye out for active wind transport, shooting cracks, and recent avalanches as signs of unstable new snow. You can use small test slopes to evaluate how reactive the new snow is to human triggering.
