Kernpunkte

The snowpack is mostly stable. Low hazard does not mean no hazard exists. At the high elevations small slabs could be triggered on isolated terrain features that have been recently wind loaded. Travel safely in the backcountry and avoid unnecessary risks as the COVID-19 crisis continues.

Avalanche Discussion

Scattered clouds are to continue overnight with cold conditions expected tomorrow morning. A weak band of moisture could bring snow showers to the mountains Tuesday afternoon with an inch or so of accumulation possible, particularly in the northern areas. Highs are to be slightly warmer with mountain temps reaching the mid-twenties. The general avalanche rating will be Low tomorrow. Avalanches are unlikely given the mostly stable snowpack and cold temperatures. The chance continues for isolated pockets of shallow wind slab to exist at high elevations on very steep wind loaded features.
