Avalanche Activity

The wind slabs represent the main danger.

Avalanches can as before be released by large loads. These can in isolated cases be released by small loads. Wind slabs are to be found adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls. They are to be avoided whenever possible.

Snowpack Structure

At high altitude only a small amount of snow is lying for the time of year. The wind slabs are lying on weak layers in all aspects above approximately 1900 m.
