At the mid and upper elevations, backcountry travelers could trigger recently developed soft slabs one to three feet in depth on steep, wind loaded slopes. On sunlit aspects, any prolonged breaks in cloud cover will make these slides more susceptible to failure and bring about the possibility of loose snow sluffs. Beware of large cornices and avoid the terrain below them. At the lower elevations, afternoon warming and possible rain showers could bring about the possibility of shallow wet loose sluffs.

Scattered, convective snow showers will continue overnight before decreasing on Sunday. Skies wil be partly to mostly cloudy. Overnight lows up high will be near 20 rising to around 30 during the day. Ridgetop winds will be westerly to northwesterly at 10 to 20 miles per hour.The general avalanche hazard at the higher elevations is expected to be MODERATE on Saturday.
