The General Avalanche Hazard is LOW at all elevations. Above 9000 feet isolated pockets of soft surface slabs to a foot in depth could be triggered in steep, lee areas. In extreme terrain small slabs in northerly aspects or sloughs on sun crusts could sweep skiers or riders over the "edge."

Overnight up to six inches of new snow is forecasted at higher elevations. South to southwesterly winds will blow at 20 to 25 miles per hour with higher gusts. Temperatures will drop to near zero tonight then rise into the mid twenties Wednesday. Lighter snow totalling one to two inches is expected during the day tomorrow. AVALANCHE HAZARD FORECAST FOR THE TETON, TOGWOTEE PASS, AND SOUTHWEST TRAILS AREAS:The General Avalanche Hazard will increase to MODERATE at Upper and Mid elevations by tomorrow morning with new snow and wind. Sensitive fast, loose sloughs and soft slabs to eighteen inches in depth may be triggered on a variety of aspects. At Low elevations lighter snow amounts are expected and the General Avalanche Hazard will remain LOW. Backcountry users are advised to consult area specific forecasts issued every morning as new information may become available and unexpected weather can change conditions.
