Kernpunkte

Fresh wind slabs above approximately 2000 m. Slab avalanches are possible. In particular on steep slopes and on sunny slopes more mostly small avalanches are possible as a consequence of the precipitation.

Lawinenprobleme

  • New snow

    • Below 1,800 m
  • Wind slab

    • Above 2,000 m

Snowpack Structure

10 to 40 cm of snow fell in the last three days above approximately 1600 m. In some places new snow is lying on a weakly bonded old snowpack. Individual weak layers exist in the bottom section of the snowpack in particular on shady slopes. The rain gave rise to gradual and thorough wetting of the snowpack over a wide area in particular in all regions below approximately 1600 m.

Avalanche Activity

Fresh wind slabs above approximately 2000 m. Slab avalanches are possible. In particular on steep slopes and on sunny slopes more mostly small avalanches are possible as a consequence of the precipitation.

The fresh snow and local mostly small wind slabs can be released, especially by large additional loads, in all aspects above approximately 2000 m. Several mostly small dry and moist avalanches are possible as a consequence of warming during the day and solar radiation. This applies in particular on steep sunny slopes. The avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular in steep terrain above approximately 1800 m.

Tendency

The weather conditions will give rise to gradual consolidation of the snowpack.
