Kernpunkte

As a consequence of warming, the likelihood of moist snow slides and avalanches being released will increase in particular on steep sunny slopes below approximately 1700 m. In very isolated cases weak layers exist in the old snowpack above approximately 1700 m. Individual avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular on very steep north, northeast facing slopes above approximately 1700 m and in gullies and bowls, and behind abrupt changes in the terrain. In particular wind-loaded slopes where weaknesses exist in the old snowpack are treacherous.

Avalanche Activity

As a consequence of warming, the likelihood of moist snow slides and avalanches being released will increase in particular on steep sunny slopes below approximately 1700 m. In very isolated cases weak layers exist in the old snowpack above approximately 1700 m. Individual avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular on very steep north, northeast facing slopes above approximately 1700 m and in gullies and bowls, and behind abrupt changes in the terrain. In particular wind-loaded slopes where weaknesses exist in the old snowpack are treacherous.

As a consequence of warming during the day and solar radiation individual small and, in isolated cases, medium-sized moist and wet avalanches are possible below approximately 1700 m. The avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular on steep sunny slopes and in gullies and bowls in all aspects. Avalanches can in isolated cases be released by people or triggered naturally. Isolated avalanche prone weak layers exist in the old snowpack above approximately 1700 m. More small and medium sized avalanches are possible. This applies in particular in case of a large load.

Snowpack Structure

As a consequence of mild temperatures and solar radiation the snowpack settled. The snowpack will be generally stable. The weather will be warm. The snowpack will become increasingly moist. Slight increase in danger of moist and wet avalanches as a consequence of warming during the day and solar radiation. Individual avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular on steep sunny slopes below approximately 1700 m.
