Forecast Weather Influences: A mild day with rain at times and the freezing level above the summits. Winds from the South. Observed Weather Influences: Overnight the freezing level was around 1050 metres, rising to 1200 metres during the day. Snow overnight above 900 metre turned to rain below 1100 metres during the day. Wind were from the South-West. ObservedSnowStability: Overnight significant quantities of fresh windslab have been deposited above 1000 metres on mainly North to East aspects. This was going through a period of instability as the freezing level rose during the morning. Fresh cornices above these aspects were unstable and prone to collapse. A number of avalanches, at least some of which where cornice triggered, occurred overnight and during the morning. The avalanche hazard is Considerable
