Gradual increase in danger of dry avalanches as a consequence of new snow and wind.
Gradual increase in danger of dry avalanches as a consequence of new snow and wind.
Gradual increase in danger of dry avalanches as the snowfall becomes more intense. The new snow is bonding poorly with the old snowpack in many places. The new snow can be released easily or naturally in all aspects and generally above the tree line. Medium-sized and, in isolated cases, large avalanches are possible. The current avalanche situation calls for extensive experience in the assessment of avalanche danger and careful route selection.
Over a wide area over a wide area 30 to 50 cm of snow will fall until the evening above approximately 1200 m. The new snow will be deposited on a crust in particular on east to south to west facing aspects. The old snowpack is favourably layered.
