The general avalanche hazard is MODERATE above an elevation of 7,500 feet and LOW below that elevation. Two days of strong winds have created surface slabs on a variety of aspects. Slab avalanches could be human triggered in steep terrain and have some potential to step down to the ground on steep northerly aspects at the highest elevations. Avalanches are unlikely at the lower elevations.
At the mid and upper elevations soft slab avalanches up to two feet in depth, formed by southwest to northwest winds, could be human triggered in steep wind loaded avalanche starting zones.
Some potential may persist for humans to trigger hard slab avalanches with depths to three feet on steep north facing slopes above an elevation of 9,000 feet.
