Kernpunkte
At the upper elevations, nine inches of new snow combined with strong westerly winds have formed new soft slabs up to eighteen inches deep near ridgelines. In steep, wind loaded avalanche terrain, backcountry travelers could easily trigger these slabs, which will increase in depth and extent as new snow continues to accumulate. A small chance persists for these slides to break into older snow with slab depths to two and a half feet. Loose snow sluffs are possible in less wind affected terrain and at the mid elevations. Warming temperatures and a chance of valley rain will increase the likelihood of shallow point slides at the lower elevations as the day progresses.
