Above 8000 feet, riders and skiers could trigger dense slabs in steep avalanche terrain that has been loaded by winds over the last week. The likelihood of triggering these slabs will increase today as they are weakened by direct sunlight and rising temperatures.

Mountain temperatures are to rise from the teens to the upper twenties to low thirties and winds are to be light. The general avalanche hazard will remain Moderate in western Wyoming. In very steep terrain that has seen recent wind loading, soft slabs to two foot depths could be triggered. In the Togwotee Pass area a slight chance also exists to trigger older hard slabs.
