After a hard refreeze and cold winds have kept our snowpack locked up today is the first day there is a shift in the weather that may result in some softening snow. Sunny skies, a high near 50F and light winds will provide conditions for the snowpack to warm and create small wet surface instabilities. Steep rocky areas on S faces that collect the warmth of the sun first and may be enough to create small pockets of wet snow that pushes you or makes you lose an edge and go for a tumble. Be mindful of what's below you if you find warming snow, even a small wet loose avalanche can have big consequences in the wrong terrain. Otherwise sheltered terrain will keep snow surfaces firm. Look for wet rollerballs/ pin wheels as the are signs the snow is softening and becoeming wet.
If you do venture out today be sure you have your sharps kit with you ( crampons, ice axe, whippet etc...) a long sliding fall could have serious consequences if you are unable to self arrest.
