Forecast Snow Stability: Milder conditions with light rain at lower levels will moisten much of the snow. Higher slopes will remain firm possibly icy in places. Localised areas of windslab will exist in sheltered gullies and on slopes mainly above 1000 metres with a South-West through North-West to Northerly aspect. Gully exits and steep corrie rims will be most affected. Some fragile cornices may also exist in these areas. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Forecast Weather Influences: Light falls of new snow will affect the higher slopes overnight and through Sunday. Winds will remain generally Easterly but veering Southerly later in the afternoon. Winds will be fresh to strong overnight but reducing through the day. The freezing level will be around 1300 metres overnight lowering to around 1100 metres later in the day. Observed Weather Influences: Light new snow overnight affected slopes mainly above 700 metres. Easterly winds were strong overnight becoming moderate to fresh today. Summit temperatures today are around -2 degrees C. ObservedSnowStability: Much of the snowpack base is re-frozen and firm with widespread rime and good general stability. Areas of moderately bonded windslab exist in sheltered gullies and on slopes with a South-West to North-Westerly aspect, these areas tend to be localised mainly to gully exits and steep corrie rims. The avalanche hazard is Moderate.
