The fresh wind slabs have formed in particular above approximately 2000 m. As a consequence of new snow and wind numerous dry avalanches are possible. They can over a wide area be released by a single winter sport participant and reach large size. The avalanche prone locations are prevalent and are barely recognisable because of the poor visibility. As the snowfall level rises medium-sized and, in isolated cases, large moist avalanches are possible.

Over a wide area 30 to 50 cm of snow, and even more in some localities, has fallen. The fresh snow of the last four days as well as the wind slabs formed during the snowfall are poorly bonded with the old snowpack. Rutschblock tests and isolated whumpfing sounds confirm this situation. The sleet will give rise to increasing moistening of the snowpack in particular at low altitude.

10 to 20 cm of snow, and even more in some localities, will fall until late morning above approximately 1300 m.
