Avalanche Activity

In all aspects a favourable avalanche situation will prevail.

As the temperature drops there will be an additional decrease in the danger of moist avalanches. Faceted weak layers exist deep in the old snowpack. Weak layers in the old snowpack can be released especially by large additional loads. This applies in particular on steep northwest, north and northeast facing slopes between approximately 2000 and 2800 m. The avalanche prone locations are rare but are barely recognisable, even to the trained eye. Some new snow: In some localities up to 5 cm of snow will fall above approximately 1300 m. The avalanche danger will persist.

Snowpack Structure

Less snow than usual is lying. In particular on sunny slopes from a snow sport perspective, insufficient snow is lying. In some localities some new snow above approximately 1300 m. The old snowpack will be well bonded on steep sunny slopes. Faceted weak layers exist in the snowpack on north, northeast and northwest facing slopes.

Tendency

The avalanche danger will decrease gradually.
