The old snowpack will be generally well bonded. The new snow and wind slabs must be evaluated with care and prudence on steep north, northeast and northwest facing slopes.

Snowpack Structure

On shady slopes and on wind-loaded slopes the likelihood of dry avalanches will increase during the day.
