Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: High pressure continues to dominate. Mild on summits during the day with temperature inversion conditions resulting in possible frost overnight in the glens. Light to moderate South-Westerly winds. Observed Weather Influences: High pressure has maintained dry, cool overnight conditions. Mild and sunny during the day, the Freezing level has remained above the summits. The wind has been light to fresh mostly Southerly. ObservedSnowStability: Good stability in all locations. A steady thaw continues to deplete the spring snowpack. The greatest remaining accumulations lie primarily above 850m on North to East aspects. Moister, softer snow surface in isolated sun exposed locations at lower elevations. Cornices remain over some very steep, mainly Easterly aspects. The avalanche hazard is Low
